Femina women's race

For over 20 years, ALIVE organized the Femina Women’s Run, which took place in ten different cities across the country throughout the summer.

Coordination on a grand scale

When more than 20,000 running enthusiasts need to be guided through the streets and alleys of ten Danish cities, it requires planning and coordination on a grand scale. ALIVE provided an A-to-Z solution for the organizer, which involved close communication with relevant authorities, planning and designing the route, coordinating volunteers, designing merchandise, and marketing the event in local media in the months leading up to the runs.

Involvement of Local Authorities

Similar to the organization of the Danish stages of the Tour de France in 2022, the Femina Women’s Run also required extensive groundwork in dialogue with local authorities. Every detail was agreed upon, from where the route could go, the time frames for setting up barriers, the permissible volume of loudspeakers, the extent of advertising along the route, to what types of refreshments stalls could serve, and many other similar questions—all of which needed to be clarified before agreements could be signed and the race could proceed.

At ALIVE, we naturally engaged in this dialogue with the relevant authorities in all cities as part of the A-to-Z solution we offered to the client.

A study in collaboration, coordination and hard work

Selve afviklingen af de ti løb var et studie i samarbejde, koordinering og hårdt slid. Et produktionshold bestående af 40 mennesker rykkede uge efter uge ind i en ny by, som på kort tid blev omdannet til et motionsmekka komplet med afspærringer, sponsortelte nær målområdet, mobile toiletter, væskedepoter, målstreg og højtalersystem. 

Når et løb var vel overstået, blev alt i bedste ”cirkusstil” pillet ned igen, fyldt på lastbiler og kørt videre til næste by, hvor det hele gentog sig, indtil ti løb var afviklet over hele landet.

Ud over de 40 ansatte, der rejste med rundt for at stille op og pille ned, koordinerede ALIVE også den hær af frivillige, der i hver by hjalp til med at stå i boder, dirigere trafikken, uddele vand og generelt få hele det store event til at glide gnidningsfrit.
